Sales Represenative and Audio & Video Installation Assistant Live Sound Reinforcement & Guitars

I grew up in Hopkinsville and studied Arts Administration at the University of Kentucky. I fulfill the role of a customer service representative and audio/visual installation assistant for Music Central. I started working here in the Summer of 2014 and have enjoyed my time here with our knowledgeable and friendly staff. I play guitar and sing in several bands in the local area and I also enjoy playing at my home church of New Work Fellowship. Music has been an important part of my life since the fifth grade.  I look forward to helping people create music. Whether it’s helping someone buy their first guitar or helping a local church upgrade their audio and visual systems, I find joy everyday by getting to come to work at a place I love.

Sales Representative & Guitar Repair Guitars, Drums & Keyboards

I am from Princeton, Kentucky and I have followed in the foot-steps of many generations of musicians in my family. I have been in the retail music business since 1995 when I opened my first store – Granny’s Music in Princeton, Kentucky. I’ve been in bands since the age of 13 starting with my two older brothers and father and then going on to play with many nationally signed artists. After meeting my wife Amber and having a son(Lathan) and a daughter(Olivia) I took a break from performance because, well, Steve Perry said it best “The road ain’t no place to start a family.” I’ve been with Music Central for 10 years and I’ve enjoyed every second of it. Who wouldn’t? I repair most instruments and love meeting new folks and musicians during the quest to find their sound. We are still your number one mom and pop style music store in the area. We have some of the best gear and most competitive pricing around. I can’t wait to meet you and be a part of your musical journey.

Vice-President / AV Design and Integration Manager Live Sound Reinforcement & AV Installation

Jason is Music Central’s audio, video, and lighting expert.  His primary focus is the design and installation of professional AV systems for houses of worship and educational institutions across Kentucky and Tennessee.

Jason graduated with honors from SAE Institute of Technology where his focus was in Audio Production and Technology.  In 2010, Jason earned an ISF-C certification for calibrating video displays, and followed it up in 2012 by earning his ANSI accredited CTS certification.  He is currently studying to achieve the next level CTS certification with an emphasis on design and installation standards.

Jason also spent 11 years on the road as the drummer and technical director for touring Christian Rock band – Hearts of Saints.  During his tenure with the band, Jason encountered many of the audio, video, and lighting troubles that our clients are likely to encounter in a variety of settings.  From small to mega churches; indoor clubs and venues; to large outdoor festivals, Jason has experienced his fair share of “complicated situations”.

“You have to approach each room or venue individually,” he says.  “Each system I design is tailor-made to work optimally in the room or venue we’re working in.  Proper audience coverage, intelligibility, full-range clarity, and minimizing room reflections (reverb) are all things I consider when designing and commissioning a system”.

E-Commerce Manager & Inventory Control Guitars, Drums & Keyboards

I left the rat race of corporate IT behind around five years ago when I was first made aware of an opening at Music Central in Hopkinsville. Since then I’ve transitioned from a mostly sales and support role to online sales and inventory control. I’m still in the process of establishing Music Central’s Reverb store and I hope to have that humming along nicely by the end of the year. I’m known as the resident walking encyclopedia of guitar brand history and general random facts. If you ever need any info on a pedal, amp, guitar or bass we have in-stock don’t be afraid to ask. I can probably give you the info you need and a ton more you didn’t ask for! Haha!

My wife, Lindsey and I just recently welcomed our first child into the world and I’ve been busy enjoying my new role as a father. I hope to instill in my little girl the same joy of music I found at a very young age. I’ve always enjoyed music. Some of my very earliest memories are of listening to LP’s on my dad’s record player. I grew up on a diet of late 60’s and 70’s prog-rock and southern rock. These days I can be found playing bass or guitar around the house or playing in a local band or two when time allows. I hope to continue working with you all to help you find the right piece of gear for your needs. Music Central really is a small family run company. We may not be related by blood but we have still built strong family bonds and I believe that makes us stronger as a company and that in turn allows us to provide a higher level of service than many of the big box stores. We know gear and we hope to get to know you as well so come on by and build a relationship with our staff here at Western Kentucky’s oldest new music store!
